Moon Shots and Lunar Landings

Manifesting with the phases and power of the moon.

Today is the New Moon in Leo and I just returned from a visit with my sister Luna. We initiated (re-initiated) our new manifesting practice with the intention of harnessing the inherent power of the moon and her phases.

Inspired by the works of Yasmin Boland (Moonology, Moonology Manifestation Oracle Cards), Jan Spiller (New Moon Astrology, Astrology for the Soul), and Keiko (The Power Wish), I have been working on my own program for manifesting with the moon. While some programs, like Jan Spiller's focus on the New Moon phase (and its nodes), others expand on additional phases. Keiko uses both New and Full Moon phases, and Yasmin Boland briefly adds information about the waxing and waning quarter phases. My program implements a more concrete manifestation ritual for each of these four phases.

I also draw on other sacred and secular sources that support the practice of manifestation, to include sacred texts and writers in the New Thought genres, perhaps most especially Neville Goddard.

To Everything Turn, Turn, Turn

Farmer's Almanacs were sourcebooks for planting and harvesting. Every seed type seems to have its own ideal time for sowing as well as reaping. I'll admit I have quite the black thumb, but I realized that it's because my farming focus is more spiritual than physical.

The moon is a natural almanac for manifesting our desires, its very light represents the energetic phases of growth. When the moon is dark, it is the ideal time to plant our deepest desire and intentions, as it represents the dark earth where a seed sprouts and takes root. The full moon indicates a time of ripeness and harvest, a time of fulness and fulfillment. The quarter phases naturally represent critical "in-between" times that have their own requirements and promises.

When we take advantage of the natural cycles and rhythms of the moon, we can begin to create our ideal life.

The Zodiac of Manifestation

Each sign of the zodiac carries its own energy that fertilizes the seeds we plant and flavor the harvest we reap. Focusing on the most constructive attributes of each sign gives power to the process.

Sun sign astrology is like a macroscope, allowing us to focus on bigger pictures. The key word here is focus, because our scope is targeted to the energy of the astrological sign of the sun. This is important because the New Moon is always in the current sun sign, as this New Moon is in Leo. Not so for the other phases of the Moon.

We also have the advantage of the microscope, one that allows us to pinpoint the energies of each phase of the moon, not just the macro energy of the Sun Sign. For example, this month's Full Moon is in Aquarius. The First Quarter is in Scorpio and the Last Quarter is in Gemini. When we focus on our attentions throughout the month, we can take advantage of the qualities of each sign, giving each of our manifesting harvests more energy.

The moon occupies each zodiac sign for approximately two and a half days as it completes its full phasal changes in just over 29 days.

Why Moon Shots and Lunar Landings?

Moon Shots are considered to be longshot wishes. Our externally focused culture often discounts them as mere fantasies, and highly improbable if not impossible, especially when the focus in on so-called physical evidence. I am here to say that a longshot just begs to be brought closer so that it can result in a Lunar Landing.

A Lunar Landing is the achievement of a highly sought after goal, one that is adopted with an attitude of commitment and faith, even against impossible odds. Imagine the feeling, not just of the astronauts but of the entire country, when the Apollo 11 mission finally achieved the goal set forth by President John F. Kennedy almost a decade earlier.

With this program, you can plant the seeds of your most cherished Moon Shots and achieve untold Lunar Landings. Will it work for you? All I can say is Give it a Moon Shot! That's the only way you'll know. Of course, I'll have lots of encouragement and suggestions for your manifesting practice.

Make a Wish

Wants, wishes, needs, desires, magic, miracles. All of these words are charged differently in different contexts. In other words, they are open to interpretation. Some say using the word want indicates lack, and literally it does. But in the program, I will share the power in this word want, even though it might seem that it is counterintuitive to manifesting.

Wish is a word often relegated to empty desires. "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride" is one phrase that downplays the power of a well-intentioned wish. Wish means "to cherish a desire" according to etymonline, it's root *wen meaning to desire, and to strive for.

Did you notice the striving for? That's (at least part of) the power of the wish, but the desire comes first.

Make a wish. What do you desire?

Set an intention to move in the direction of that desire but be open to any and all help from the universe, even in light of contradictions.

I will provide more information in upcoming posts. For now, make a wish with the power of Leo, who represents pleasure, fun, brilliance, enjoyment, attention, courage, and confidence.

Whatever your wish is (a new job, a change in finances, healing, an exotic trip, etc.) frame it in a way that exudes the qualities of Leo. Additionally, frame it in the form of an intention. (Once you've done this, you've taken your want (lack) and set yourself on the path of attainment (having) and fulfillment (being).

Examples:

(job) I intend to infuse my work with a spirit of fun in order to attract a better position.
(finances) I intend to see paying my bills as a game to be won instead of feeling defeated.
(healing) I intend to find some playful activity that will aid in my pursuit of better health.
(exotic trip) I intend to take a trip to Jamaica with my fun-loving sister by the summer of 2025.

We're Only Getting Started

I know this is the second post published and sent today, and for that I apologize to your Inbox but I hope you can find value in one, the other, or both, and forgive me for sending two. ☺

I have only touched the surface on the topic of manifestation in this post, but I promise much more to come. If you have any questions, please comment on the website or reply to this email.

We'll be addressing the Full Moon in Aquarius on August 19 (My birthday), but look also for other posts that elaborate on the program.

To your Moon Shots and Lunar Landings!
